Connect ChatGPT.
Install the Ashford Connect plugin to work with your own computers from ChatGPT. Ashford Connect is independent software, not an OpenAI product.
Install the plugin
- Sign in to your Ashford dashboard and click Download ChatGPT plugin.
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins, select +, then choose the option to upload a plugin.
- Upload AshfordConnect-ChatGPT.zip. Leave the ZIP intact; do not extract it.
- Add the plugin, then connect it using your own Ashford Connect account when prompted. Never paste passwords or API keys into the chat.
- Start a new chat and ask: “Use Ashford Connect to list my computers.”
Connect your computer
The Windows helper must be installed, paired and running. Follow the Windows installation steps, then return to ChatGPT. Your selected computer permissions determine which files and commands are available. This plugin does not add administrator rights, screen streaming or mouse control.
Your account stays separate
The plugin ZIP contains connection settings and the Ashford cloud icon, not your credentials or computer tokens. Each person signs in to their own Ashford account. Uploading a plugin does not itself publish it to the public directory.
Using Grok instead?
- Open Plugins in Grok.
- Select New connector at the top right, then Custom connector.
- Enter
https://connect.ashford.cloud/mcpas the server address. - Sign in to Ashford Connect and authorise your own account.
If the tools do not appear
Check that the plugin is installed and its Ashford connection is authorised. Start a new chat after installing it. Upload options and plugin access depend on your ChatGPT plan, client and workspace permissions.
